Male Suicide Prevention Australia is dedicated to reducing the incidence of male suicide by applying an understanding of male experience, male physiology, psychology, and social determinants of male suicide within a comprehensive prevention approach incorporating the following strategies:

  • Dissemination of specialised targeted literature
  • Community capacity building and male peer support training programs
  • Education for GPs and allied health professionals
  • Male counselling and mental health support
  • Networking and inter-agency collaborative endeavours
  • Development and dissemination of National Guidelines for male suicide prevention
  • Basic and applied research
